Time is moving towards Christ’s kingdom, but first some major things have to happen. The biggest of these are laid out in Daniel’s seventy weeks prophecy. We want to demystify this prophecy a little bit for you in this episode by providing some historical background and scratching the surface to the literal events that are being represented, especially as it relates to Christ. Join us as we cover the first two and a half verses of this four-verse revelation.

Daniel 9:18-23
The vision given to Daniel is a direct result of his time studying God’s Word and praying. We are reminded of the components of Daniel’s prayer: (1) confession, (2) intercession, and (3) supplication in verse 20. And this leads into the introduction to the vision given by God and received by Daniel in verses 24-28. We will unpack these four monumental verses next episode, but for now it is important to understand that the theme of this prophecy is Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for our sin.

Daniel 8:21-27
Even if we do not fully understand it, prophecy can be comforting because we know it is true. That means we can believe it even before we have studied it in depth or feel we have extracted the full meaning of any given prophecy. But the best comfort is not what God says He will do for those who love Him, but God Himself! You will hear all this and more in today's episode as we wrap up the eighth chapter of Daniel.

As we look at the second of three main characters in Daniel chapter 8, we will also get a glimpse into the history of the Jewish feast of lights. This history is so important for us to grasp, not only to understand the past and present, but also to look to the future with calm expectation and hope.
Studying God's Word
This podcast is committed to studying God's Word through consistent normal-literal-grammatical interpretation, in connection with the context, from a dispensational approach, and by comparing Scripture with Scripture. Every episode will examine the Scripture expositionally from a Separated Baptistic perspective. We believe God's Word is sufficient for all matters of life and theology and look forward to studying it each week together!
About the Host
I am 100% non-catholic, non-charismatic, non-calvinist, non-chauvinist, non-conformist Christian. As a sixteen-year-old, I surrendered to the call to preach one night in youth group, and I began preparing for the ministry even as a homeschooler. I studied Youth Ministries and Church Music at Pensacola Christian College, where I graduated in 2021. While there, I was on staff at a large youth group as well as being a Christian Service leader, residence assistant, and the senior class chaplain, which gave me broad exposure into the calling of ministering to people. The Lord also used three summers counseling at Christian camps, and attending and preaching in churches across the US to impress upon me the need for serious New Testament churches. I believe these experiences give me unique insight that will prepare me for the calling to plant a church in the future. Currently, I am intensely studying the Bible, completing courses, reading, and writing in preparation for that calling. Thanks for listening!
